4 WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, JULY 4, 1925 GIRLS TO WIN TOUR OF WORLD Illinois Products Exposition Sponsors Contests for Girls of State GIVE 2 FIRST AWARDS One Prize for Downstate and Other Upstate The Illinois Chamber of Commerce this week officially announced its plan by which two Illinois girls--one from Chicago and one from downstate--will be sent around the world this autumn as guests of the Illinois Products Ex- position, with all their expenses paid. Four Illinois girls--two from down- state and two from Chicago--will ac- company the Illinois Queens for a tour around the United States through the Panama Canal. The downstate girls will not be handi- capped by competing with Chicago girls and the award rules have been so drawn that the downstate girl has an equal -chance of winning the major prize regardless of the population of her town. The award to the six girls will be made in conjunction with the advance sale of tickets to the Illinois Products Exposition, to be held in Chicago at the American Exposition Palace, Octo- ber 8 to 17. The campaign will be con- ducted as it was last year by the Illin- ois Chamber of Commerce in co-opera- tion with the Chicago Daily News. The official announcement was made by Wayne Hummer of La Salle, Ill, general chairman of the exposition, and president of the Bankers' association, at a joint luncheon of the exposition's board of governors and exhibitors at the Morrison hotel.
