WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, AUGUST 1, 1925 } Miss Klotz Wins From Mrs. Horn in City Title Finals Golf tournaments during the last week have had on the list of entrants and winners the names of several local women. A Winnetka woman took . highest honors in the women's city championship contest by winning the city title, while other north shore wom- en have played in important matches. Since both contenders for the city title were local women, north shore golfers have had another reason for giving close attention to the finals be- sides that of their interest in good golf. In the final round last Saturday at the Evanston Golf club, Miss Dorothy Klotz of Indian Hill won the city championship six and four by defeating Mrs. Miriam Burns Horn of West- moreland. Mrs. Horn, who is the wife of Joseph F. Horn of Wilmette, is a former student of Northwestern uni- versity and is well known along the north shore. Mrs. Horn qualified for the finals by defeating Mrs. Melvin Jones of Olympia Field, the winner of last year's tournament, one up. Miss Klotz won her victory in the semi-finals, four and two, in a close match with Mrs. Lee Mida of Butterfield. In the second flight of the city championship finals Mrs. John Arends, Wilmette, defeated Mrs. G. H. Throck- morton, four and three. Mrs. C. A. Klotz of Indian Hill lost by default to Miss Dorothy De Rimer in the third flight consolation. Other local women who were en- trants in the city tourney were: Mrs. H. G. Phillips, Skokie: Mrs. Edgar Stevens, Skokie: Miss Virginia V. In- gram, Sunset Ridge; Mrs. R. C. Ben- nett, Indian Hill; and Miss Ernestine Pearce, Skokie.
