Mr. Albright has been a resident of Hubbard Woods for several years. "The picture is well adapted to this * purpose, for it is a children's picture in it feeling as well as in subject," the maga- zine article states. "It was painted in the springtime, and the setting was found at Edison Park, Ill, now a part of Chicago, but at that time a village of a few houses in the midst of sur- rounding farms and orchards. The scenic beauty of the district attracted many well-known artists of the day, and it was here that Mr. Albright built his home in 1890, and a little later the little log studio where he painted his first group of American country children. The title of 'the' painter of this particular subject was J conferred on him by W. M. R.
