A number of affairs have been given for Miss Metzel and Mr. Prindle prior to their marriage, the most recent of which occurs this evening when Mr. and Mrs. Metzel are entertaining the wedding party at dinner. Tuesday evening Miss Berger was hostess at a dinner dance at the Drake hotel. Upon returning from their motor trip to eastern Canada, Mr. Prindle and his bride will be at home October 15, at 1911 Sherman avenue, Evanston. ---- Mr. and Mrs. T. IL. Brantley, their two children, and Mrs. Brantley's mother, Mrs. LLongmaid, have returned to their home at 1071 Vine street, after an extended stay in the West. Leaving early in May, the party spent that month in Portland, and then spent June and July in Montana. RLS Mr. and Mrs. Victor Harding, their daughter, Miss Mary Adelaide, and their two younger children, of Burr avenue, Hubbard Woods, are leaving this fall to spend the year abroad. Miss Jane Harding and Victor Harding, Jr. will join the other members of the family in Europe next June. Miss Louisa May Greeley with her party of four Winnetka girls, Grace Glenman, Helen Hazeltine, Jane Adair, and Elizabeth Lamson, returned Sat- urday evening from a 40-day pack trip through Wyoming. Miss Greeley is now at Ephraim, Wis. --- Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Elsholz of Evans- ton announce the engagement of their daughter, Ethel Louise, to Claude D. Stephens, Jr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude D. Stephens of 1433 Asbury avenue. The wedding is to take place in the fall. --Q-- Mr. and Mrs. Alfred P. Brown and family of 1607 Elmwood avenue, Wil- mette, are visiting friends in San Fran- cisco, San Diego, Los Angeles, Port- land, and Seattle.
