30 WINNETKA TALK October 3, 1925 Mrs. H. R. Rathbone Is Hostess Today at Large Musical Tea After many weeks of pleasant idle- ness and social diversions of only the lightest sort, a number of Kenilworth hostesses are responding to the urge to preside once more at cozy lunch- eon tables, to sally out to bridge clubs with increasing frequency, or gather their friends about them for lively din- ner parties. The list of parties grows amazingly each day and it looks very much as though Kenilworth folk would have no end of things to do and places to go in the fall and winter ahead. An affair that will be much talked about took place this afternoon at the Sheridan road home of Mrs. Henry Riggs Rathbone, wife of the Congress- man at Large, who was hostess at a musicale and tea from 4 until 7 o'clock, given in honor of her two sisters and houseguests, the Misses Edith and Mabel Harney of Milwaukee. Several noted artists from Chicago as well as Mrs. Rathbone herself presented a mu- sical program during the afternoon, this being the first occasion upon which Kenilworth has been given an oppor- tunity to hear Mrs. Rathbone since her return from Washington, D. C., where news of her performances at numerous embassy teas and one notable perform- ance at a tea given by Mrs. Coolidge at the White House, reached home from time to time. The Rathbone home was plentifully decorated throughout with choice fall flowers, and pink Killarney roses formed the central decoration in the dining room. Mr. and Mrs. C. Heath Bannard, Jr., 1077 Cherry street, have just returned from a three weeks' motor trip through the East. Mr. and Mrs. Bannard are building a new house on Locust street. -- | 3) LE | Soccer Champs Prepare to Renew Victorious Exploits New Trier high school's soccer team is preparing for a big season this fall in spite of the fact that there will be no Suburban Soccer league this year. New Trier was champion of the Sub- urban league last year. A number of letter men are back this year and much other good material has appeared to vie for the places on the team. Games with Lake View high school and some Indiana teams are scheduled, it was said.
