October 10, 1925 WINNETKA TALK New Trier Drops 20--7 Grid Battle to Deerfield Lads The New Trier football team took the small end of a 20--7 score in the game with Deerfield high school at Indian Hill last Saturday. The Gray and Green was downed partly by the accurate passing and excellent punting of the Deerfield team, but mainly by its own fumbles, which were the source of all three of Deer- field's touchdowns. Jenks, the New Trier first team quarterback, was the outstanding player of the game. He repeatedly gained yards in running back the opponents' punts and it was he who scored the only touchdown for the home team. Jackett kicked the goal, bringing the score to 7 for New Trier. Deerfield made a touchdown in each of the first and second quarters against the New Trier second team, which had started the game in a vain effort to tire the opponents and make the work easy for the regulars. The third touchdown was made in the last five minutes of play. At one time the New Trier men ad- vanced to within four yards of the Deerfield goal, but, with a splendid effort, the Deerfield team stopped them and kicked out of danger. The Auburn dealer organization, ac- cording to factory executives, has suc- ceeded in swamping the factory with a veritable deluge of orders which has necessitated additional workmen as well as a more intensive working pro- gram at the Indiana factory.
