24 WINNETKA TALK October 17, 1925 OFFER SHORT COURSE FOR REALTY TEACHERS Northwestern University and Na- tional Association of Realty Boards Cooperate in Venture An intensive short course in real estate, the first of its kind to*be given anywhere in the United States, has been arranged by the National Asso- ciation of Real Estate boards in co- operation with the Institute for Re- search in Land Economics and Public Utilities and with Northwestern uni- versity. The new course is primarily to give training to teachers of real estate courses now being conducted in more than 200 cities over the United States and Canada. These courses are being offered by member real estate boards, by universities and colleges, or by Y. M. C. A. schools and other vocational institutions. The course will be given at North- western university December 27, 1925, to January 2, 1926. Graduate students of Northwestern university and of the University of Chicago and active real estate dealers as well as leaders of real estate voca- tional classes will be eligible to enroll for the course. There will be concentrated work on the principles of real estate practice, real estate law, and real estate ap- praisals. Courses in real estate finance, land economics and real estate trans- fers and conveyances will also be avail- able on demand. For its instructors the new teacher- training course will draw on the staff of the Institute, the staff of the Nation- al Association of Real Estate boards, the faculty of Northwestern university, and on leaders in real estate and in real estate education throughout the country. Study trips to notable real estate developments in Chicago region and visits to the headquarters of the Na- tional Association of Real Estate boards and to neighboring local real estate boards are among the practical special features planned for the visiting students.
