TES WN 077 32 WINNETKA TALK October 17, 1925 Ibsen Drama Next Lecture in Course by Alexander Dean Alexander Dean will give the third lecture of his course on Contemporary Drama next Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in the Boy Scout room at Community House. These lectures are given under joint auspices of the Com- munity Drama club, and the the Win- netka Woman's club and next week's lecture is to be on "Ibsen and the Drama of Ideas." Mr. Dean will dis- cuss in particular "The Wild Duck," which was so popular in New York last winter. The revolutionary Ibsen and his effect on and contribution to modern drama, the strength and weak- ness of the problem play and the posi- tion of the "well made" play will also be discussed. There will be a brief re- sume of some of the more outstanding modern exponents of Ibsen, such as Pinero, Galsworthy and Channing Pol- lack. The talk on Wednesday of this week on Shaw's "Candida" and the history of satiric drama was reported as of great interest both to those who had seen the play and also to those who had merely read of it. These lectures are given every Wed- nesday afternoon and are open to the public for a small admission. Anyone who is at all interested in the modern theater cannot help but derive great pleasure and profit from this course, handled as it is in Mr. Dean's own inimitable manner, it is said.
