How these "last straw" expenses are supplied to many deserving and ambitious boys and girls whose education would otherwise have to stop, was told by Mrs. Ed- ward D. Pomeroy, president of the Vocational Supervision League of Chicago, at a meeting of the Win- netka Woman's club, Tuesday, October The Vocational Supervision League, which is supported by individual and club memberships, is for the protec- tion and education of children of working age, 14 years, who without its assistance, would have to become earning members of their families. | Scholarships, ranging from $7 to $25 a month are given to pupils, who in the opinion of the Board of vocational guidance of the public schools, are promising, and anxious to have an edu- cation, but who, through economic stress at home, could not otherwise stay in school.
