24 WINNETKA TALK November 28, 1925 PLAN UNIQUE BAZAAR New Trier Girls Club Invites Residents to Christmas Sale December 6; Arrange Many Novelties The Girls' club of New Trier will sponsor a Christmas bazaar to be given Saturday, December 6, at the New Trier mess hall. The affair will open in the early afternoon and continue until the evening. The purpose of such a project is to raise funds to swell their scholarship and loan fund which the club maintains every year. Among the features of the bazaar will be a number of booths, each selling some special article, such as the French boudoir booth, which will specialize in linens, fancy work and such frilly fol- de-rols so dear to every girl--or grown woman, for that matter. Then there will be the Dutch Oven, whose wares are perfectly obvious; the Xmas tree booth and the doll and toy booth for the youngsters, and many others. One of the most unusual of the booths will be the Chinese Hand Laundry, So-Slo's Laundry. This booth will be as nearly like that of the typical Chinese people as a large group of clever girls, under the guidance of two skillful teachers, can make it. The booth will represent that part of the laundry into which a customer enters to receive his fresh linen. The shelves will be filled with packages of assorted sizes, interestingly wrapped in crackly brown paper. The remarkable feature about this laundry is its very low rates for all kinds of work, whether hand done or machine done. Each package will contain some article fully worth the price paid for redeeming it and the nature of which will be both un- expected and agreeable. Still more un- usual, those in attendance will be Chinamen as silent and mysterious as the country of which they are native sons. This booth promises to be one which will be as fun-giving as money- producing, for the Girls' club. Still other features of the event are the one-act play to be presented in the afternoon and again in the evening and the dancing for the evening also. The play will be presented by a group of the New Trier Dramatic club, called the "Players." They will offer Morley's "Thursday Evening." The bazaar is to be a lively and happy undertaking from the beginning in the afternoon to the close of the evening. Kindergarten College Holds Annual Festival Tuesday afternoon the students of the National Kindergarten and Ele- mentary college held in the College hall the last Thanksgiving festival to be celebrated in its present location. Before another Thanksgiving it will be located on its new campus, 2770 Sheridan road, Evanston. The outstanding feature of the fes- tival was the procession of 400 stu- dents with their gifts of fruit and jellies and jams, cereals and 'vege- tables, and other more substantial ar- ticles of children's diet, to be sent to the little children of Mary Crane nur- sery, Hull House. At the request of Student Council, a committee of the students visited the nursery and their report resulted in a generous gift from every student for the Thanksgiving happiness of the little children over there. Miss Dorothy Glover and her room- mate, Lucene Bartelman of Glencoe, were among those who attended the Wisconsin-Chicago football game last Saturday. Miss Glover had as her guests for the week-end Miss Gertrude Thieman and Miss Miriam Hahn of Reedsburg, Wis. Silo Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Farny of Lin- den avenue are moving to 693 Walden road the first week in December. The Name of PARISIAN CLEANERS means something when you talk of Dry Cleaning.
