30 WINNETKA TALK December 19, 1925 won -- Child Safety Campaign Spreads Throughout U. S. The Chicago and Cook County Cit- izens Child Safety campaign has been made national in its scope, O. G. Tem- me, general chairman, announced this week after being informed of plans for placing A-B-C (always be careful) visual education books into the hands of several million school children in other cities. The campaign was taken up in San Francisco where T. A. Tomasini is gen- eral chairman and Senator Shortridge, Major Rolph and other prominent cit- izens honorary chairmen. They plan to extend the campaign to all the ter- ritory along the coast and will organ- ize a Pacific coast division with San Francisco. Los Angeles and Seattle as the large branches. St. Louis school children probably will receive A-B-C books through the agency of the St. Louis chamber of commerce. A citizens child safety committee was organized there and the chamber of commerce examined the visual education plan with the idea of putting it to a vote of directors and expanding the campaign. Omaha business men visited the Chi- cago office and looked over the cam- paign for several days, then decided to place the books in Omaha and to suggest to other cities of Nebraska that they try a year of campaigning to end the slaughter of children by automobiles. Several smaller cities paigns in full swing. have cam- HEAD TEACHERS' GROUP Miss Laura F.
