Wood and family, former- ly of 979 Vine street, Winnetka, have moved to their new home at 920 Green- wood avenue, the southwest corner of Greenwood and Edgewood lane. Mr. Wood has also built another new resi- dence, which is at 916 Greenwood ave- nue, directly south of the one which he is occupying. The first one is a seven room Eng- lish type house, on a lot 73 by 143 feet. It is of stucco and brick, has a spacious sun room, breakfast nook, two baths, two car garage and many other fea- tures have been incorporated in its planning and construction. The other house, Mr. Wood has built for the market and announces it is now ready for inspection. It is of the Span- ish type of architecture, with tile roof, and its feature design is also carried out on the interior. In addition to the seven spacious rooms there is also a large sun room, with tile floor, which type of flooring is also featured in the reception hall. There are two bath rooms and also an attached garage. The house has a pretty setting on a lot with an east frontage of 61 feet and at the edge of picturesque Skokie valley, along which are springing up so many of the at- tractive new north shore homes BUYS WILMETTE LOT George Gauger has purchased through R. M. Johnston and company, 340 Linden avenue, Wilmette, fifty feet of vacant on Seventeenth street, one-half block south of Wilmette ave- nue, Wilmette. The sale was made for Mrs. Edith O. Taft, of 900 Central avenue, Wilmette, and was purchased by Mr. Gauger for investment, it is said. BUILDS NEW HOME A new home is now being constructed by Everett W. Procter, local builder and contractor, for Harry R. Coffey on a lot on Driftwood lane, recently pur- chased through the Stults Realty com- pany. It is to be a white stucco home of colonial design. Breaks Ground for New English Home in Hubbard Woods Charles E. Olewine, of 732 Park ave- nue, Wilmette, who has built many pretty homes along the north shore, broke ground for another one this week, in Hubbard Woods, which he says should be proof against fault find- ing from the most exacting person who is looking for a seven room house, in this area of the north shore. It is located at 1447 Asbury avenue on a fifty foot south front lot, with a depth of 160 feet. The house is a two story English Normandy type of seven room, two baths, breakfast nook and attached garage. Stone and brick are to be used in the construction, with cel- otex insulation all around. A wrought iron balcony and similar trim in front will further feature the exterior de- sign. One of the bath rooms will be done in green and orchid tile and the other in black and white. Both will be fea- tured with colored tile wainscoting. The first floor will be done in sand finish plaster with dark walnut trim, and the second floor walls and wood work will be painted.
