~ December 11, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 57 Ht ER-------------------- JOIN XMAS CAROLERS North Shore Glee Club to Tour Resi- dence Districts of New Trier Mon- day Evening, December 27 The North Shore Glee club will be, one of the many organizations plan- ning to join in the singing of Christ- mas carols during the holiday season. Monday night, December 27, the mem- bers of the club will assemble in Win- netka, and traveling by auto, will make a tour of the families of mem- bers having little children, where they will sing the customary Christmas songs and carols. It is possible that a belated Santa Claus will be on hand to emphasize the Christmas spirit, but Santa hasn't promised to stay over for the evening. In appreciation of the help the wives of the members have given the club in its minstrel shows, and in serving refreshments at the regular meetings and practices, the club will be host to the wives at a dinner to be held the evening of January 12. Besides the dinner, cards will be played and there will be dancing, the party to be held at the New Guest House at Techny, 111. One of the best dance orchestras on the north shore is scheduled to play for the dance to be given by the club, Thursday, January 27, at the Winnet- ka Woman's club. The Amphion Chicago Quartet club group at a stag party some time dur- ing the month of February. The Am- phions were hosts to the North Shore club in October, and the return invi- tation will be set for the early part of the new year. Jack Schultz, newly elected presi- dent of the club, is anxious to make this next year a most successful one, and feels that the enthusiasm the members show, as well as the inter- est the public is showing will result in a banner season. CHANGE CLASS DAY The class: in Corrective English which is being conducted at the Com- munity House under the direction of Miss Helen Boyce, has been changed from Wednesday nights at 8 o'clock, to Monday nights at the same hour. Parkes Cadman of Brooklyn, one of the greatest preachers of the age, will address the Wilmette Sun- day Evening club, Sunday, Decem- ber 12. Miss Jean Markley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Markley of 777 Burr avenue, will return shortly before Christmas from Wellesley college, to spend the holidays with her parents.
