January 1, 1927 WINNETKA TALK 23 Scout Leader of Highland Park Is 15-Y ear Veteran George S. Keller, pastor of the Trin- ity Episcopal church, and Scout Com- missioner of Highland Park, is one of 164 men who for fifteen years or more have been giving leadership to the Boy Scouts of America. He has recently received a certificate from the Chief Scout executive of the United States. A letter accompanying it read: "My dear Mr. Keller-- "It is with pleasure and real satis- faction that I am privileged to send you herewith a certificate showing your registration in our office as a 15- year Veteran Scout, because of the fact that you have been with the Boy Scouts of America since the first year of its history. You will be interested to know that yours is one of 164 cer- tificates issued to 15 year veterans, and that of this number, 10 are active as officers and members of our National Executive board. This in itself is quite a testimony as to the strength of the Boy Scouts of America. "Sincerely hoping that you will re- main active with us for a long time to come, I am Sincerely and cordially yours. Boy Scouts of America, James E. West, Chief Scout Executive." "There may be other men in our council who have received the fifteen vear reward," Walter McPeek, execu- tive of the North Shore Council said, this week, "but their records have not been called to my attention. Our coun- cil feels proud to have one of the few fifteen year letters." Mr. and Mrs. Harry Turvey of To- ledo, Ohio, will spend New Year's and the following week-end, visiting Mr. Turvey's parents, the Rueben Tur- veys of 1121 Merrill avenue. The Murine Company Mept. 33, Chicago JR oh Ls EYES Christian Science Churches "Christian Science" was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, December 26. The Golden Text was from Isaiah 60:1, "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee." Among the citations which com- prised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that enter- eth not by the door into the sheep- fold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a rob- ver. But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:1, 2, 9, 10). The the Lesson-Sermon also included following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scrip- tures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "Divine Science derives its sanction from the Bible, and the divine origin of Science is demonstrated through the holy in- fluence of Truth in healing sickness and sin. This healing power of Truth must have been far anterior to the period in which Jesus lived--It lives through all Life, and extends through- out all space" (p. 146). Mrs. L. A.
