Seaman, 808 avenue, Wilmette, and David F. No- ble, 240 Forest avenue, Winnetka, sus tained serious injuries as a result of an automobile accident which occurred on state highway number 22, opposite Yeoman City of Childhood, near Elgin, at about 6 o'clock, Tuesday evening, December 28. Noble, accompanied by Seaman, was driving north on the highway when his car was struck by a southbound machine driven by Chester Chapin of Highland Park. The force of the im- pact threw the Noble car into the ditch where it was overturned, while Cha- pin's car "ratcheted" off and collided with a third machine belonging to El- mer H. Lang of Carpentersville, Ill. In the second collision both cars were Greenleaf | ditched and over-turned. Seaman was the most seriously in- jured, having been confined to his bed since the accident with a badly wrenched back. Noble received cuts about the face and head; Lang was only slightly bruised; while Chapin es- caped uninjured. All three cars were badly damaged in the accident and Chapin was ar- rested on a charge of driving a car while intoxicated. At a preliminary hearing he was released on $2,000 bonds and his trial set for some time in February. Chapin, it is charged, was so intoxicated that after the ac- cident when questioned as to his des- tination, replied that he was going from Elgin to Highland Park. He was, however, headed back toward Elgin. Mrs. Mark Cresap, 239 Essex road, Kenilworth, was hostess to her card club on Wednesday. tion. the social lull. appear best. and now that you have time to think-- "==; LN Think of Cleaning ((V2 The rush and crush of the holiday and party activity is over, at least there is enough lull in social matters, so that small matters of personal detail can be given considera- The necessity of looking one's best does not vanish with Contacts continue; the clothing must continue to be an asset in making the man or woman And now that you have time--go over each garment, and let the cleaner present you with a new wardrobe, so to speak.
