Purple Natators Out for Another Stellar Season Northwestern university's swimming team, which has the enviable record of piling up three Big Ten championships and one national title during the last four years is putting up some strenu- ous licks these days in preparation for the forthcoming game. Coach Tom Robinson, the veteran mentor of Purple swimming teams, has returned from a tour of the far West and is putting his splashers through daily practice sessions. While Tom is not promising another title crew this season his performers are expected to be up around the top again. North- western opens the conference season with Purdue at Fvanston on Feb- ruary 5. Northwestern's string of swimming championships began in 1923 and con- tinued through 1925. In 1924 the team traveled to Annapolis and annexed the national intercollegiate title. The team tied the Navy the following year. Last season the Purple won the water polo championship. Rough Plaster Finish Used in the Corridors Corridors in the new Georgian hotel have walls finished in a unique fashion. A special treatment was applied to them after the final coat of tan plaster had been put on; the result is a rough, coarse surface. Woodwork in the corridor is English walnut. A stippled red band borders the length of the halls along the cornice. Corresponding to this single color note, the fireproof floors are covered with a deep rose carpet.
