Colbath, who is only a Sopho- more, held the interscholastic prep school championship while competing for Lane Tech of Chicago. In winning the Central championship Colbath was forced to best a fine array of divers headed by Halvorson of the Chicago athletic club. Colbath is ex- pected to be one of the leading point getters for the Purple this winter for besides his fancy diving he is also a crawl swimmer of ability and also per- forms on the water polo team. Methodist Society Will Meet in Englewood Feb. 2 The semi-annual meeting of the Woman's Home Missionary society of Rock River conference, the Method- 'et church, will be held on Wednesday, February 2, at 10 o'clock in the morn- ing, at the Englewood Methodist church. The national president of the so- ciety, Mrs. W. H. C. Goode, will give an address in the afternoon at 2:45 o'clock. The Englewood Methodist church is at 6400 Stewart avenue. The local members 'have been directed to take the Englewood elevated train to Har- vard station. Miss Anne Pavey, who has been vis- iting in her brother's home, Mr. and Mrs. William B. Pavey of 845 Lincoln avenue, left Saturday, January 22 for New York. She expects to sail on the "Transylvania" on a Mediterranean cruise for several months. SCOUTS TO HAVE HUT Men Already at Work Preparing Logs for North Shore Scouts' Cabin to Be Built in Forest Preserve The hopes of many years are at last béing realized by the Scout troops of the North Shore area. Men are al- ready at work preparing the logs for a Boy Scout cabin in the forest pre- serve west of Glencoe. This cabin will be used by the twenty-three troops of the area for over-night and Saturday hikes. The cabin is being built by the Board of Commissioners of Cook county, largely through the efforts of County" Commissioner Oscar W. Schmidt of Wilmette. The plans are already drawn, to include a fireplace and other features that will provide for year round comfort of campers, both Scouts and leaders. "It is the thing that we have been looking forward to ever since the or- ganization of our council." Scout ex- ecutive Walter McPeek said, "It will be a great help to every troop and will help us all to keep the 'out' in Scouting. We are all very happy over the good news." Tt is planned that the cabin will be completed for. a public dedication shortly following Scout week, and will be in regular ue about March 1. Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Jacobs of 368 Elder lane, Winnetka, are planning a two weeks' trip to Biloxi, Miss., early in February. Their daughter, Lucy, a student at the North Shore Country Day school, will not accompany them.
