Boys of 12 years of age and over, who are not already members of one of the other Wilmette troops are invited to visit Troop 1 next Saturday night at 7:30 p. m. 29.5 per cent of the Scouts of Wil- mette, Kenilworth, Winnetka and Glen- coe are in high school. About every sixth boy at New Trier is a member of a Scout troop. This average indi- cates that a large percentage of boys continue their Scouting work, often in positions of leadership, during their high school years. Recent studies in higher institutions of learning have shown a surprisingly large number of students have been Scouting. Forty-nine per cent of the men enrolled in the U. S. Naval Academy have been Scouts. Forty- eight percent of the men at Harvard have developed under the opportunities afforded them through the Scout pro- gram; fifty-two percent of the men at the University of Oregon are former Scouts. Of the groups studied half of the college students were drawn from about a third of a million boys who were Scouts in 1919. The other half were drawn from the remaining six million boys of Scout age who were not Scouts. Eighteen times as many Scouts went on to higher institutions of learn- ing than did non-Scouts. 42 YEARS UNDER SAME SUCCESSFUL MANAGEMENT University 2777 Blankets, Curtains, Pillows, Rugs, Drapes.
