May 7, 1927 WINNETKA TALK RAVINIA OPERA WILL OPEN DOORS JUNE 25 Mary Lewis and Lucretia Bori Among Outstanding Stars to Be Heard This Season After months of careful planning the multitude of details which go into the o-- making of an opera season have heen marshalled into order and Louis Eck- stein makes first announcement concerning the season of Ravinia opera and concerts for 1927. During the months which have elapsed since the close of the last Ravinia season, the problem of making the season of 1927 more magnificent in every way than was its predecessor, has occupied Mr. Eckstein's attention. The very pinnacle of art was reached last vear, and to surpass that record loomed like an almost impossible task. But now comes the formal announcement of all that is in store, and it gives eloquent testimony that Ravinia will set a new record for itself. The season will open this year on June 25 and will continue until Sep- tember 5. The artists engaged are = representative of the best that could be found anywhere in the world and the list of operas will include not only the standard works, but several inter- esting revivals and novelties.
