MAKE GARDEN POOLS The interest of North Shore home beautifiers in embellishments for grounds and gardens has aroused con- siderable enthusiasm for the work of the M. and M. Construction company. The firm specializes in garden pools, smoothly tiled or asphalted, and has facilities for fitting out the pools with water lilies and other aquatic flowers, Swimming pools are also a feature of the M. and M. service. 'OPEN SCOUT CABIN { North Shore Area Boy Scouts to Dedi- cate Cabin-in-the-Woods at Cere- monies Sunday, June 26 | One of the unique features of the ocaan ; } % [dedication of the North Shore Boy | Scout Cabin-in-the-Woods, to be | held Sunday afternoon, June 26, at 2:30 o'clock, will be the dedication of | the "flag pole with roots." A straight oak tree that would otherwise have been removed to provide light and open space around the cabin, was trimmed instead and left standing to be used as the flag pole. It presents a unique appearance and will be one of the novelties of the overnight hike objective of the north shore troops. The Cabin-in-the-Woods is for over- night hike use the year around. The logs are carefully chinked, and the fireplace being so built that the cabin will be as warm and comfortable as a house in the winter time. The dedicatory services will be un- der the leadership of Albert P. Snite, of Highland Park, president of the council and will be attended by Anton J. Cermack, president of the County board, and Oscar W. Schmidt, Coun- ty commissioner, who aided materially in its construction. Announcements of the program have been mailed out by Scout Executive Walter McPeek to the different civic organizations and the parents and it is expected that the services will be & | attended by a very large number of north shore residents who are vitally interested in the Scout movement. Dr. and Mrs. H. Dunham of Los An- geles, who have been touring the East, stopped in Winnetka on their way home to visit Mr. and Mrs. Fred Loco I of 1040 Cherry street.
