Best ball class tournament, one prize for FIRST TOURNAMENT DRAWS RECORD CROWD Skokie Playfield Committees An- nounce Attractive List of Season's Golf Events The first tournament of the season at Skokie Playfield, match play against par, last Saturday "and Sunday, was featured by one hundred eight entries, the largest number ever recorded at this popular course at the season's opening event. In addition to the num- ber of actual entrants in the tourna- ment events, there were also two or three hundred other players on the course during the week end and on Sunday, evidencing the increasing pop- ularity of Playfield. The tournament was won by D. Ep- stein, while tied for second place were E. Hartshorn, H. Carpenter and J. E. Bradstreet. If the weather is favorable today and tomorrow, it is expected the number of entrants in the tournament scheduled for these dates, an eighteen hole, handi- cap, medal play, with two prizes for each low net and low gross, will be doubled. The tournament committee of which Elmer Nelson is chairman, has com- pleted the finest schedule of season's events the community has ever been offered. Mrs. C. B. Cook is chairman of the Woman's tournament committee. Throughout the planning for the season, the committees are being ably assisted by Wallie Stelzel, who is again Professional at Skokie Playfield.
