Greyhound racing is scheduled on the entertainment program of the Illi- nois State Fair, every afternoon and night from Monday, Aug. 22 to Friday, Aug. 26, inclusive. A big feature is the fact that the new home of Lloyd Hollister Inc., will set back thirty feet from the street. This provides space for landscaping. A lawn and flower gardens will add to the attractiveness of the surroundings. The new building, aside from its modernness, will provide more than ample space for the publication of newspapers and job printing. On the first floor will be the offices, the press room and the bindery. On the second floor will be the editorial department, advertising offices and the composing room. The basement which is spacious and located under the central section of the building will be used for stock storage and boiler rooms. Provision has been made for heat- ing. A system of the unit type will be employed on the first and second floors. Air circulation will be taken care of by modern methods. Buy New Equipment New machinery, in fact double the equipment of the past will be installed which will provide not only greater ef- ficiency but greater publishing capac- ity. Expansion in the years to come has been forseen as is indicated by the fact that not more than half of the space in the new building will be required for present needs. Lloyd Hollister, president of Lloyd Hollister Inc., is as optimistic as to what the future holds as he was eleven years ago when the organization started publishing newspaper-maga- zines on the north shore. "Optimism and faith in the future has caused us to take this venture, which means that we will own our own publishing plant." he says. "Fifteen years on the north shore has given me an insight into the wonderful develop- ment of this section. There is no peak to progressiveness and I am looking ahead to greater things." Flaherty Takes First Prize in Golf Tourney The North Shore Real Estate board held its regular July Golf tournament at the Suburban Golf club Thursday, July 28. First prize winner was Rob- ert H. Flaherty of Mouat and Flaherty, of Wilmette, who had a gross score of 88. Second prize was won by Harold D. Hill of Hill & Stone with a 90, and third prize went to Lewis T. Dodds of Quinlan & Tyson, with 91. Several of the Evanston Real Estate board members accompanied the North Shore board. Pierre Beach and O. H. Armstrong were the prize winning guests.
