S. Bell who are to build soon at Linden and Merrill avenues, Hubbard Wood:, brought the grand total of building permits in Winnetka, for October, to $328,475. Eight of the twenty-three permits were for new residences totalling $141,- 000, while a like number were issued for garages costing $4275. Three per- mits were issued for remodeling jobs costing $2,900. Two of the permits were for residence foundations, costing $4,800, and one was for a $500 real estate office at 1020 Willow road on the Alles subdivision. Permits for Residences Permits for the new residences were issued to M. M. Davoush, for a six room house constructed of brick on tile, with attached garage, at 1142 Cherry street, costing $12,000. To H. L. Rac¢lin, a member of the village board of trustees, for a new $25,000 brick residence, of seven rooms and heated porch and garage, at Elder lane. One to George S.
