To Break Ground Soon Ground is to be broken within the next two weeks, it is said, for the new $125,000 apartment building to be erect- ed on the north side of Hazel avenue, west of Vernon avenue, by Jevne Haugan and his associates, and as soon as the widening of Vernon avenue in this section is started, Frederick A. Cooper announces that_he is ready to begin work on his new $225,000 apart- ment building at the northeast corner of -Hazel and Vernon avenues. There were eight permits for remodeling jobs costing $16,815 and there were also eight per- mits for new garages, costing $4,228. Kloepfer for a two story house with attached garage, con- structed of frame and brick veneer, at 403 Jackson avenue, costing $16,000. To Charles A. Hartmans Are Building House on Garrison Street The Hartman brothers, Carl and Fred, who have been active in build- ing in Wilmette in recent months, are now building in the newer section of North Evanston. They purchased, through Smith and Brown of Linden avenue, Wilmette, the lot at the south- west corner of Garrison and Isabella sreets, the seller being James W. Northrup of Evanston. An English Colonial house with two baths and a two-car garage will spring up shortly on the property, ground having already been broken. E. E. Thatcher acted for the buyers. Wilmette Realty Reports October Sales Ahead of '26 Sales negotiated by the Wilmette Realty company during the final month of the summer brought the total sales figures well ahead of their 1926 record. A list of the sales consumated during that month follows : The residence of E. C. Trankler at 622 Greenleaf avenue was sold to C. Seymour Jones, formerly a resident of Chicago. Mr. Trankler has moved his family to Oakland, Cal. The home of E. C. Newhouse on the southwest corner of Eleventh street and Ashland avenue, Wilmette, was sold to L. C. Pelott. Mr. Newhouse is now making his home in the East. The newly completed nine room English brick home of Max Eckleman in Glencoe was sold to Harry P. Con- way, formerly of Wilmette. Mrs. Katherine Kinder of Wilmette has purchased the eight room residence on the southwest corner of Wilmette and Park avenues, from Carl I. Wen- dell. The six room brick residence of Armin Bierbaum at 1729 Washington avenue, Wilmette, was purchased by Wilired C. Gillies of Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Banning, Jr, formerly of Wilmette are now residing in their beautiful home in Indian Hill Estates, which they pur- chased through the Wilmette Realty company. Chris Christianson of Glencoe has sold his residence at 228 Randolph street to Willard Wheeler. Mr. Wheel- er is an executive of the National Safety council. The residence of R. C. Bennett at 856 Sheridan road, Winnetka, was sold to Carl E. Widney of Wilmette. J. P. O'Meara of Chicago purchased the residence of Charles S. Bergh at 821 Forest avenue, Wilmette. Miss Georgiana Reddick of Chicago sold 100 feet of vacant rpoperty on Third street, Wilmette, to Samuel Gordon of Chicago. The residence of W. C. Carlson at 2719 Eastwood avenue, Evanston, has been sold to Simon J. Morand of Chi- cago. The home of D. P. Kiefer, 874 Grove street, Glencoe, has been purchased by Clarke J. Munn of Wilmette.
