November 35, 1927 WINNE T'KAU TALK 61 ANOTHER NEW APARTMENT ANNOUNCED FOR GLENCOE Jevne Haugan and Associates to Begin Work in Two Weeks on $125,000 Building on Hazel Ave. Announement is made this week that | in about two weeks a syndicate headed | by Jevne Haugan, builder of the hee] new apartment building on Linden | avenue, Hubbard Woods. will begin the erection of a twenty-nine apartment building and business block in Glencoe. It will be located on the north side of Hazel avenue, on a tract 75 by 132 feet, directly west of the Baumann Shoe store corner, and directly across the street from the Masonic temple and the William Edwards hardware store. It will comprise twenty-nine apart- ments and one store and will cost, it is said, $125,000 or more. All rooms will -have outside exposure. The building will be three stories in height, of brick and stucco, half timbered and of the English Tudor type. Robert Ostergren, of Chicago, is the architect. It is planned to have .ne building completed by May 1. {t is only one-half block east of this proposed new buidling, on the north- east corner of Hazel and Vernon ave- nues, where Frederick A. Cooper, of Wilmette, is to begin the erection of a $250,000 apartment and business block, as soon as the final details of widening that section of Vernon ave- nue are completed. A.E. Wright Buyer of Watters' Home on Greenwood Ave. R. M. Johnson and company of Linden avenue, Wilmette, have sold the John Watters house at 1134 Greenwood avenue to A. E. Wright of Evanston, manufacturer of Wright's Salad Dress- ing. The residence is of brick con- struction and has seven rooms. John F. Hahn of Evanston represented the buyer. Mr. Watters has gone to Cali- fornia to live. The sale of the six room kelastone bungalow at 1627 Lincoln street, Ev- anston, is reported by the same brokers. It was sold for J. B. Ed- wards, formerly of 105 Fourth street, Wilmette. The eight room and two bath brick home at the northeast corner of Twelfth street and Greenwood ave- nue belonging to T. C. Heer, has been sold to W. C. Carlson of Chicago. R. M. Johnson and company were the brokers. The Heers have broken ground for a new home which they are building in Kenilworth, R. M. Johnson and company have sold for Harold E. Spinney the lof 100x290 feet on the north side of Chestnut avenue between Eleventh and Twelfth streets. Fifteen feet of addi- tional ground to the west have also been sold to the buyer, Edward W. Thomas, who is breaking ground for a large residence. Residence in Winnetka Bought by B. V. Kanaley Byron V. Kanaley of Cooper, Kan- aley & Co., first mortgage investment bankers, has bought the twelve room residence at the northwest corner of Ardsley and Pelham roads, Winnetka.
