"ADVENTURES IN READING" By May Lamberton Becker Frederick A. Stokes Co. May Lamberton Becker has made an art of reading. In her "Reader's Guide" she has passed on that art to thousands of others, now she has written a book for boys and girls. In it she tells them, and tells it interest- ingly, how to lay a foundation for intelligent reading, how to develop a taste which will be a joy to them all their lives. "Reading for Companion- ship," "Discovering the Delights of History," "Other People's Lives, How Biography Adds Them to Your Own," these are some of the chapter head- ings. The whole book is the most simple and sincere statement of why Mrs. Becker herself loves reading, what she has got from it, what another could hope to get. It would be a real cornerstone for the library of any young person of twelve years and up. a Announcement-- THE CLUB HOUSE of the Glencoe Golf Club is available for afternoon and evening enter- tainments, parties, dances, etc. for particulars, consult WM.
