WINNETKA TALK December 10, 1927 ANY of you who read this were members of our Christmas Club just being paid out. You are prepared for Chirstmas. We congratulate you on your foresight and on your accomplishment, and are happy to have played a part in making this Christmas cash-free, with no first-of- the-year 'Please Remits' to look forward to. Of course you will join our new Club, just starting. Why not also speak to some other member of your family or a friend? You can give them first-hand in- formation as to the benefits to be derived. WINNETKA TRUST and SAVINGS Four North Shore Women Hockeyites on All-Star Team The north shore prides itself in hav- ing had four women placed on the All-American hockey teams after the games at St. Louis last week-end. Miss Peggy Waidner of Hubbard Woods won a position on the regular team, and Miss Marion Montgomery of Hub- bard Woods, Miss Elizabeth Lamson of Winnetka, and Mrs. Lewis Taylor of Winnetka won positions on the reserves. Miss Lamson is the youngest, on the team, and is playing her first year in this fast competition, after playing on the All-Chicago and Mid- West teams. J-- All the north shore women who placed on the All-American teams were on the mid-west team. Others from the Mid-West team who won positions on the All-American are Miss Carol Rice of Madison, Wis., who will be on the regular All-American, and Miss Marjorie Harrowell of Chicago, Miss Alfreda Mosscrop of Madison and Miss Margaret Meyer of Madison, who will be on the reserves. Mrs. Em- mons Blaine of Winnetka was one of the judges of the games. The teams were chosen after the games on Friday and Saturday, and the names were announced at a large banquet Saturday evening. The an- nual meeting was held after the ban- quet. On Sunday the All-American teams played, the first team defeating the second. The first team may play the English team next year, if the English team accepts an invitation to come to America. Scouts See Demonstration by Crack First Aid Team At the regular meeting of the Win- netka scouts held last Thursday eve- ning at Community House a First Aid' team from the Public Service Com- pany of Northern Illinois, gave a dem- onstration of various phases of first aid treatment for the benefit of the scouts. The team was directed by C. H. Kallstedg of Evanston and was com- posed of five employees of the Public Service company. Troop number 5 of the Winnetka scouts, recently organized, held its first regular meting this week. In the inspection conducted by Chief J. W. F. Davies, troop 1 received com- mendation for having the largest num- ber of scouts in full equipment and cor- rectly dressed. Name Urbain Director of Hibbard Woods Association Jules Urbain of 271 Vernon avenue, Glencoe, has been elected a director on the board of the Hubbard Woods Im- provement association, representing the southwest section of Glencoe. He was elected at the meeting Friday eve- ning of last week. Residents of this section are re- quested to communicate with him rela- tive to any suggestion they desire to make in which the association would be interested. Mr. Urbain is a member of Olson & Urbain, architects, and has been most active in recent years both in design- ing and building of homes, not only in Hubbard Woods, but also in Glencoe and Highland Park. The Barret Conways will give a tea on Sunday, December 18, for their daughter, Louise, who returns home Friday from Wellesley.
