The council meeting will follow a brief meeting of the Executive board at which time the election of officers will be held. The present officers of the North Shore Area council are Al- bert P. Snite, vice-president, Dr. Douglas Cornell, Dr. George Roberts, Maurice Mandeville, Roy W. Jarrett, Commissioner George R. Harbaugh, Treasurer ,Henry Fowler. First Aid Contest Each troop of the North Shore Area is getting it's First Aid team of six men ready for a Council-wide First Aid Rally which will be held Friday eve- ning, January 28. Problems will be given to the teams and the judges will decide on which group demonstrates the highest grade first aid work. Sign Up for Winter Camp It is not too late for Scouts to en- roll for winter camp according to a bulletin issued from the Area Scout of- fice last week. Two winter camps will be the feature of the December pro- gram. What is the greatest thrill in scout- ing? Camping, of course! What is the most adventurous kind of camp- ing? The answer naturally is "Winter Camping." There is a great thrill when the snow is piled high outside and the logs are crackling on the fireplace and a fine gang of good scouts are gathered around you and someone is telling a story. Perhaps you are roasting ap- ples as the wind blows around the corners of the logs outside--THAT'S winter camp! A group of fifteen North Shore Scouts will leave on Monday after- noon, December 26, with Mr. McPeck, headed for winter camp at Wilderness, Michigan. A larger group, probably twenty-four scouts, will leave the following morn- ing with Mr. Grant for the greatest time of their lives at the "Cabin in the Woods." Reservations are rapid- ly filling up. If you are planning on goin, better get your registration in soon. Plan for Anniversary Eighteen years old! Scouting in America celebrates its eighteenth birth- day during Anniversary Week, Febru- ary 6th to 12th, 1928. Every troop will plan to make this week the biggest week of the scouting year. Many Father and Son banquets, parents' nights, window displays and things of an interesting public nature are be- ing planned. Of course, every scout will want to wear his uniform during the en- tire week and will want to have a part in making Scout Week an out- standing event in the new year. It is our chance to bring scouting to the attention of every person in our community. RUBYS SMART SHOES FOR, WCMEN 4A] TESS SLRS A pretty Ruby semi-dress slipper.
