They will re- main in Europe for two months, partly on pleasure, partly on business. Mr. and Mrs. William P. Reed, 1075 Pelham road, were among other Win- netka members and guests attending the Christmas ball at the Union League club Wednesday evening. The children's company of the play- ers presented "Uncle Tom's Cabin," The players, who are directed by Marie Agnes Foley, and who have headquarters at 943 Rush street, will revive "Little Lord Fauntleroy" for January playing and give its first per- formance New Year's Day. During December, Wednesday, Sat- urday and Sunday evenings, the play- ers are presenting "When the Roses Bloom Again," a comedy in three acts by Eduardo Marquina. During Janu- ary the adult players will play Ibsen's "The Doll's House." During Decem- ber the younger players are offering "The Great Gift," a Christmas "make- believe" by Florence Crocker Com- fort, and "The Voice of the Bell," a masque of Christmas by Constance D'Arcy Mackaye. TEACHES AT GARRETT Dr. Horace G. Smith, pastor of the Wilmette Parish Methodist church, is to conduct a class at Garrett Biblical institute, Evanston, in his capacity as associate professor of preaching at the institute. He will begin the class next week and continue his teaching service over a period of eleven weeks. Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Lucke of 394 Elder lane are giving a dinner party Friday, December 30, for their son, | William, who is home for the holidays from St. John's Military academy. =O Mr. and Mrs, J.
