Miss Ekrem is credited with having assumed the leadership in releasing Turkish women from the bonds of ancient Moslem tradition. She is a member of a highly cultured family and received her education in American schools in her native land. SHOW LINCOLN MOVIES A motion picture program on Abra- ham Lincoln was shown at the Skokie school on Monday of this week through the courtesy of Arthur Mayer, 840 Locust road, in commemoration of Lincoln's birthday Ingerle Paintings to Be on Exhibit at Winnetka Hall A one-man exhibit of the oil paintings of Rudolph Ingerle will be opened March 19 in Matz hall, Community House, Winnetka, under the auspices of the North Shore Art league. Mr. Ingerle is one of the finest of the north shore artists. He was recently awarded the William Randolph Hearst $300 prize at the exhibition of artists of Chicago and its vicinty. He also exhib- ited recently at the Chicago Galleries association. Most of the paintings shown at that time will be in the exhibit at Matz hall. Mr. Ingerle does both water colors and landscapes. Recently he has chosen the Cumberland Mountains as the subject for several of his paintings. Mr. Ingerle was one of the founders of the North Shore Art league and was its first president, serving two years. A resident of Highland Park, he is well known throughout the north shore. At the opening of the exhibit on March 19, Mr. Ingerle and several others will speak. The public is in- vited to view the paintings then or during the followng week. Former Winnetkan Dies at Chicago Residence Funeral rites for Max B. Sheffer, formerly a resident of Winnetka but more recently of Chicago, were con- ducted from {funeral parlors at 3824 Irving Park boulvard last Monday under the supervision of the William B. Warren lodge, No. 209, A. F. and A. M. Interment was at Acacia Park cemetery. Mr. Sheffer is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marjorie Sheffer, and two chil- dren, Maxine and Bruce.
