February 25, 1928 WINNETKA TALK RAISE 1928 FUNDS FOR COMMUNITY HOUSE Total Budget is is , $28, 000; Goal in Campaign to Start March 11, is $12,000 The Governors of Community House announce that the campaign for the annual maintenance expense will be held on Sunday afternoon, March 11. The village has been divided into fifteen districts, or zones, with a cap- tain over each, and a crew of work- ers in each district. The zone cap- tains are as follows: First--Erskine Wilder. Second--Charles L. Byron. Third--Glen C. Bull. Fourth--B. J. Kellan. Fifth--R. Ww. McKisson. Sixth--Lee Walker. Seventh--Robert S. Hammond. Eighth--William T. Bacon. Ninth--F. B. Thomas. Tenth--Harry A. Craig. Eleventh--Arthur C. F. Gedge. Twelfth--Not yet selected. Thirteenth--Joseph H. Brown. Fourteenth--John N. Ott. Fifteenth--Winnetka Rotary club. District No. 15 is composed of the business districts in the three sections of the village and will be canvassed by a committee consisting of Herbert Paulson, William Wersted and E. / Anderson. The foregoing men attended a luncheon Friday evening at which time plans for the campaign were discussed. The total budget for Community House for 1928, is approximately $28,000, of which $12,000 is the goal set in this camaign. The remainder of the budget is to be secured from other sources. Dr. B. E. Fillis Hurt In Automobile Crash Dr. B. E. Fillis is: recovering at his home, 1138 Tower road, from an auto- mobile accident which occurred last Saturday, and in which he broke three ribs. Dr. Fillis was driving his sedan along Sheridan road in the rear of a large motor truck when, in front of the North Shore Health resort, the truck suddenly turned west on Fuller lane and the sedan crashed into it. Dr. Fillis was thrown against his steer- ing wheel and was stunned for sev- eral minutes. His car was entirely wrecked. The fenders of the truck were bent, but it was not harmed otherwise. Mrs. Fillis plans to take Dr. Fillis south early in March, to rest. Winnetka Represented in Chicago Etchers Exhibit Winnetka is well represented in the annual exhibition of the Chicago Socie- ty of Etchers, which is now on view at the Art institute. In the group of etchings, done by artists from all parts of the world, Mrs. George Engelhard and Allen Philbrick both have several works. In addition, Mrs. Engelhard received the honor of having one of her etchings, "The New Baby," bought for the permanent collection of the Art insti- tute. and also having this etching re- produced in the catalogue of the ex- hibition. The exhibit is on view in the Art institute from February 9, to March 21. Wednesday, February 22, Mr. and Mrs. Horace W. Armstrong of 365 Sheridan road left for a week's visit in New York City.
