Butler of 1050 Sheridan road, who is an active leader in the current campaign to swell Winnetka's fund for Infant Welfare work this week, received a novel contribution to the cause from a Glencoe young wom- an, Miss Rebecca Anthony, 684 Bluff street, who, though unable, because of press of business, to give active assist- ance in the drive, has penned the fol- lowing verses dedicated to the little tots who are the beneficiaries of the Infant Welfare movement: A Springtime Prayer for Little Tots God lite a star in heaven to-nite For little tots in dim, dark city streets; Wee hearts and eager baby smiles With whom the sunshine rarely meets. God of the Universe, compassionate and kind, Enfold them in your love, and grasp each tiny hand; Look down today with tenderness and pity Upon the little children of the city. So seldom birds to them may ever sing, Or flowers waft fragrance, lingering; The dew of summer dawn, The rose of dusk Have fled on disappearing wings Before the cities' rush of things. 'White daisy fields, a-song with humming bees, The laughing sunshine and the whisper- ing trees; God think today of children in the streets 'With whom thy goodness seldom meets. Please may thy angels up in heaven lite One star for tired little tots to-nite. --Rebecca Anthony.
