Christian Science Churches "Substance" was the subject of the lesson-sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, Sunday, March 11. The Golden Text was from Proverbs 3:9, "Honour the Lord with thy sub- stance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase." Among the citations which com- prised the lesson-sermon was the following from the Bible: "Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; laying up in store for them- selves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on etgrnal life" (I. Timothy 6:17,19). The lesson-sermon also included the following passages from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "That which material sense calls intangible, is found to be substance. What to material sense seems substance, becomes nothingness, as the sense-dream vanishes and reality appears" (p. 312). Mrs. E. D.
