In: a, report to T. J. Crowe, president of the Sanitary district, Mr. Miller says: "In reference to the suggested ex- tension of McCormick road {from Devon avenue to Lawrence avenue paralleling the North Shore channel, the Sanitary district, of course, realizes that this continuation is the natural thing to do and provides a logical out- let for this important artery. "The Sanitary district has, ever since the idea of building this boulevard has been conceived, always kept in mind the continuation of this roadway, but it has only been within the last six or eight months thru the efforts of the present Board of Trustees that the necessary financial relief was accorded the: District thru an act of the legis- lature which enabled us to carry on this work. "In the 1928 budget an item has been set up of $150,000 for the ex- tension of McCormick road and the Sanitary District has undertaken pre- paration of the plans on the same but further action has been delayed pend- ing completion of negotiations with the Chicago Plan commission. The district at all times and particularly under the prevailing regime are anx- ious to fit in with other Municipal bodies in carrying on of improvements of this nature. We recognize the Chicago Plan Commission as the guid- ing agency in the development of all those things in City planning that they have devoted their attention to which have so much to do with the improve- ment and betterment of our City."
