Knapp A speech of appreciation by Presi- dent Walter Dill Scott and the gift of a watch and chain were tributes Tuesday evening to the final appear- ance of Prof, Harold E. Knapp, direc- tor of the Northwestern University Symphony orchestra. Prof. Knapp organized the orchestra in 1912 and has since been its director. He has been head of the violin depart- ment of the university School of Mu- sic for the last 36 years, and has re- signed this position to make his home in Florida and retire from teaching. The orchestra played its last sea- son's concert Tuesday evening, the final appearance under his direction, at the Country club. St. Elisabeth's Guild Plans Big Rummage Sale The Woman's Guild of the Church of St. Elisabeth, Glencoe, is preparing for its annual rummage sale, which will be held Thursday and Friday, April 19 and 20, at the Parish House, on the corner of Hawthorne and Vernon avenues, Glencoe.
