Parker of 577 Ash street, has been elected to membership in Alpha, an honorary so- ciety at Smith college. - Selection for this society is based on special ac- complishment in some one field. Miss Parker had the added distinction of being elected in sophomore year : most of the new members are juniors or seniors. She is *a graduate of New Trier high school. Voters' League Election Bureau Proves Popular The Winnetka League of Women Voters conducted Election Information headquarters last Monday and Tues- day in the North Shore line station on Elm street. Many sample ballots were given out, and the information fur- nished by those agencies which publish candidates' records and endorsements was distributed. There were many calls for the interpretation of election laws. The league plans to enlarge this feature of "Get Out the Vote" work at the time of the presidential election in November. This will be true on Satur- day morning, April 14th, when they offer to the housewives of Winnetka the best of home-cooked foods--the restilts of their own efforts--at rea- sonable prices. The sale will be open to the public beginning at 10:30 Community House. Six groups of Camp Fire Girls, and three groups of Blue Birds--younger Camp Fire Girls --will participate. Committees from the Camp Fire Council will assist in pricing and judg- ing the articles offered for sale. The chairman of the Pricing committee is Mrs. Bob Anderson; the chairman of the Judging committee is Mrs. Dudley French, assisted by Mrs. Arthur J. Boynton and Mrs. Oliver Knode. Mrs. Fritz Wagner will serve as cashier, and Mrs. E. E. Stults is general chairman. It is always of great encouragement to the girls to have the generous re- sponse of the public, and they are asking the housewives to keep this event in mind, and to come Saturday morning, April 14, at 10:30 to Com- munity House. Ravinia Drama Shop Gives Plays at N. U. Settlement The Ravinia Drama Work shop will give "The Companionates" and "The Lost Silk Hat" at the Guild House of Northwestern University settlement, on Saturday evening, April 21, at 8:30. Miss Harriet Vittum, head of the settlement, will be hostess at a dinner to precede the plays. Reser- vations for this dinner are being made with Mrs. Donald Maxwell, Wilmette 2986. The dinner and plays are given under the auspices of the North Shore Alumnae of the Chicago Teachers college, for their building fund.
