Wersted, at the meeting of the Winnetka Chamber of Com- merce last Monday evening, was elect- ed to the presidency of that organiza- tion for the ensuing year, The Chamber, at the same time, ex- tended a vote of thanks to Thomas J. Lynch, the retiring president, for his services during the past year. Mr. Lynch, in his response, said he appreciated the loyal support he had received throughout his term from the members, whom he admonished to aid in a similar manner the incoming officials. R. F. Doepel was elected first vice- president; Vic Killian, second vice- president; Herb Paulson, third vice- president; Harvey Bowen, fourth vice- president; Henry Klauke, fifth vice- president; O. L. Porter, treasurer; B. G. Eberle, secretary. The foregoing officers, together with T. J. Lynch and E. L. Weinstock, com- prise the directors. The Chamber of Commerce annual dinner will be held Monday, May 14, at Community House and will be followed by a dance in the gymnasium. CHANGE FIRM NAME North Shore Co., Now Lynam Bros. and Smith; A. W. (Art) Smith New Member of Firm A change in the name of a Winnetka firm has just been announced, that of the North Shore Co., to Lynam Broth- ers and Smith. A new member has been added to the firm, A. W. (Art) Smith, a young man who was born and reared in the village and who enjoys a wide acquaint- ance throughout the north shore. Joseph Lynam resides at 989 Elm street. He is a member of Win- netka Post No. 10, American ILegion and is here to stay, he says, and is in- terested in every good thing that will benefit Win- netka. F. P. Lynam, his brother, also a member of the firm, resides in re --_--_----_-- J. E. Lynam Wilmette. A. W. (Art) Smith, the new mem- ber of the firm, was born in Win- | now 1036 netka and resides at Elm street. The © firm '" is only six months old, yet during that time it has enjoyed a grad- ual expansion in its business of sell- ing coal, coke, wood, cinders, crushed rock and - \ black dirt. The company A. W. Smith headquarters and office is at No. 16 Prouty Annex, Win- netka, but its large, well-equipped yards are located at Northfield. The company takes a justifiable pride in the quality of its products and its cour- teous and efficient service. The members of the Lynam Broth- ers and Smith firm are members of the Winnetka Chamber of Commerce, the Winnetka Credit Men's association and are active in all civic affairs of the village. DELEGATE TO CONVENTION Mrs. A. Montague Ferry, the newly elected president of the Winnetka League of Women Voters, will be the delegate from the Winnetka league to the National convention of the league to be held in Chicago April 23 to 28. Mrs. Edwin E. Brown and Mrs. Maurice H. Lieber have been chosen by the Illinois league as official visi- tors.
