20 WINNETKA TALK June 2, 1928 - Five North Shore Weddings to Take Place in Fortnight Saturday evening, June 2, at St. Augustine's Episcopal church, at 8:30 o'clock, the marriage of Miss Winifred Fairchild Metzel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Beck Metzel of 307 Cumber- land road, Kenilworth, to Ballard Van Horn Higbee, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. H. Higbee of 810 Lake avenue, will take place. The service will be read by Dr. Hubert Carleton, assisted by the Rev. Frank Fitt of Highland Park. A reception at the Kenilworth club will follow the ceremony. On Tuesday two weddings will take place and in both instances the bride- grooms are Wilmette men. Miss Eu- genia Moore of Glencoe will become the bride of Karl D. King, Jr. at the home of her mother, Mrs. John J. Moore, 440 Sheridan road, at 8:30 o'clock in the evening. At 8 in the evening St. Chrysostom's church will be the scene of the wedding of Miss Dale Klapproth, daughter of Frederick Klapproth of Chicago, and Curtis Bird, son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Bird. The wedding reception will be held at the Blackstone. Miss Hazel Strand, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nels A. Strand of Evanston has chosen Saturday, June 9, as the day of her marriage to Edward Weber Tubbs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Tubbs of 1350 Greenwood avenue. The service, to be read at 4 o'clock, at the Georgian hotel, will be followed by a reception and dinner. The attendants will be Charlotte Loomis of Evanston, maid of honor, and Lois Martin of Evanston, brides- maid. Edson Sessions of Chicago will serve as best man and Frank Sherritt of Kenilworth will usher. Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Christiansen of Wilmette have issued invitations for the marriage of their daughter, Fae Lorine, to Leslie Harry Huett- man of Wilmette, which will take place June 16, at 4 o'clock, in the afternoon at Christ church, Winnetka. The Duncombes formerly lived in Chicago. Dr. Rosanna McKenney Weds Joseph Colligan Mr. and Mrs. S. F. McKenney, 752 Foxdale avenue, announce the mar- riage of their daughter, Dr. Rosanna N. McKenney to Joseph P. Colligan of New York, on Thursday, May 31, at Rome, N. Y. The attendants were Miss Mardie Lee Connelly of Holyoke, Mass, and William Cassedy of New York City. The bride and groom will motor to the bride's home here and, after a few days' visit, will continue on to Min- neapolis, where Dr. McKenney will attend the medical convention.
