CHICAGO « NORTH WESTERN The Best of Everything in the Best of the West R A H LW Edwina Weckler to Open Eighth Year of Dance Classes Mrs. Edwina Martine Weckler is re- turning to Wilmette next fall to com- mence her eighth season of dancing instruction for children. Mrs. Weckler taught for two seasons at the Ouil- mette Country club and then discon- tinued her classes to accept the very attractive offer of the Parent-Teacher association, for which she taught for five years. She will reopen her own classes in October at the Wilmette Woman's club. They will be held Thursdays. Mrs. Weckler is opening classes in Glencoe under the auspices of the Glencoe Parent-Teacher association in October. She teaches in Joliet, Evans- ton, and the Francis Parker school, Chicago. Her classes at the Blac Beach hotel are conducted under the name of "The Martine School of Dancing," as Mrs. Weckler is most anxious to keep the name Martine alive, as it is, in Chicago, synonymous with dancing and has been so for the past seventy-four years, ever since established by Mrs. Weckler's father, Prof. J. Edwin Mar- tine. Mrs. Weckler is a member and a teacher at the conventions of the American Society of Teachers of Dancing which meets yearly in New York City and is the original dancing society. Thomas and company, whose north shore real estate office for the past three years has been lo- cated at 526 Linden avenue, Winnetka, moved Wednesday, into their new of- fice at 743 Elm street, formerly oc- cupied by the Stanton Wilhite studio. The place has been completely re- modeled and redecorated, and with the installation of new, up-to-date furniture, makes of this one of the finest and most pretentious offices of its kind throughout the north shore. Have Downtown Offices A The company also maintains offices at 10 South La Salle street, Chicago, and has been handling north shore property for the past fifteen years. The personnel of the Winnetka of- fice staff comprises Ralph M. Jaeger, Mrs. Hazel F. Reid, Mrs. Erskine Wilder, Mrs. J. Edgar Freeman and Miss Katherine Shaw. The Frederick B. Thomas company reports that its Shorecliff subdivision at Cedar avenue and the lake, in High- land Park, is practically sold out, there being only three reparian rights lots left. Its Skokie View subdivision, com- prising 35 acres, between Pine street and Westmoor road and west of Rose- wood avenue, Winnetka, is also prac- tically sold, while its Mid-Park sub- division, between Pine and Spruce streets west of Glendale avenue, is about twenty-five percent sold out, Mr. Thomas says. These are all high-grade subdivis- ions, highly restricted and in keeping with the increasing demand for prop- erty of this nature which has featured the north shore market. The Frederick B. Thomas company also handles acreage, but particularly specializes in North Shore and ad- iacent property, from Fvanston to Lake Forest. lived in fairy- the minute. | mum First CI in or phone, 7 ERFE'S the richest, fullest, bub- Sling-over-est ticketin all travel- donu...a ticket to the Orient!
