June 30, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 41 GOLFERS WILL PLAY NEW TECHNY COURSE Daily Fee Course to Open Sat- urday at Waukegan and Willow Roads There never seems to be enough golf courses. Therefore players who patronize the fee courses will be glad to hear that the north shore will have a new fee cougse whic will be as fine as any in the Chicago district. Techny Fields is the name of this new course which will open this Satur- day and, as the name implies, it. is near Techny, being situated at the junction of Waukegan and Willow roads directly west of Winnetka. This makes it very centrally 1ocated and it is easily reached by any number of good roads. Several prominent north shore men are sponsoring this club. Charles A. Nash of Wilmette is general manager; Frank J. Seng, also of Wilmette, is president, and E. A. Kalkhurst of Ev- anston, vice-president of the corpora- tion. Others on the board of directors are E. F. Kelly and O. G. Corns, both of Wilmette. Has Wide Experience Charlie Nash has had a wide ex- perience in the building and managing of golf clubs and this experience is evident in the layout at Techny Fields. Mr. Nash said, "Our officers and di- rectors have been very liberal and have provided every convenience for the golfer. Nowhere outside of a pri- vate club will players find the facili- ties that have been provided at Techny Fields and they are all avail- able at the same prices that one would pay at other fee courses. "Our dining room will be open every day in the week and appetizing meals will be served at reasonable prices. The dining room is open to anyone whether they play golf or not and we hope people will motor out to Techny Fields for dinner." The course was built last year and is in very fine condition. Those who have been privileged to play the course prior to its opening tomorrow say it is a sporty and interesting course. A rambling, Colonial style clubhouse is one of the features of the club. In the center is a large lounge, attractively furnished and boasting a large fireplace. Next to the lounge is the dining room and opening off SID ATTN 2 Willard \ RE Battery Service All Makes Recharging Rebuilding Starting Lighting -- Ignition Lubricating Your Troubles Quickly Cared For Rentals JONES Service Station EDDIE JONES Linden at Scott Tel. In n interview with Mr. Seng he said, "Our aim has been to make Techny Fields the finest public fee golf course in the Chicago district; to to make it a club where men, who are not members of a private club, can enjoy private golf club conven- iences at daily fee course prices.
