July 14, 1928 WINNETKA TALK ~~ Plan Interesting Summer Jaunt for Group of Scouts If the plans of the Executive board of the North Shore Area council in the purchasing of a camp site in north- ern Wisconsin materialize, a group of older, advanced Scouts will probably leave for a week or ten days' tour early in August. The trip will be made under the leadership of Scout Executive Walter McPeek, and a group of Scoutmasters, and will include a trip through the Shawano Indian Reservation, along the Wolff River to Antigo, Elcho, Rhinelander, Crandon, Eagle River, and other points of interest in north- ern Wisconsin. Campers on this trip will probably spend a few days on the site of camp, the purchase of which is now under consideration. Scouts over 14 years of age, who are at least of First Class rank, and who desire to go, have been requested to notify the area office, 360 Central ave- nue, Highland Park. Chemistry Institute to Hear Eminent Scientist Dr. Harry N. Holmes, head of the department of chemistry at Oberlin college, will give a series of lectures at the institute of chemistry of the American Chemical society to be held at Northwestern university, July 23 to August 18. Dr. Holmes is well known to chemists as a teacher as well as a research worker in the field of colloids. His lectures will be given as a part of the course in teaching methods which is being organized by B. S. Hopkins, of the University of Illinois. Ruth Poff, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Delbert W. Poff of 739 Walden road, is recovering from an illness which has kept her home for some time. Mrs. F. O.
