---- ge . AA September 22, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 31 Announce Winners of Indian Hill's Tennis Tournament Indian Hill club held its Club Cham- pionship Tennis tournament from Sep- tember 5 to 16. There were divisions for boys and girls under 12 years and for those from 12 to 15 years old. Be- sides these events there were junior boys' and girls', women's, mens', and married women's divisions. In the Junior boys', Francis Stanton defeated Philip Burnham in three straight sets. The men's tournament has not yet been finished. The Junior girls' division was won by Barbara Holden when she defeated Jean Armstrong. In the Women's singles Barbara Holden, the defending champion, de- feated Adalaide Ball in straight sets. Following are some of the scores: Women's second round--B. Holden defeated Mrs. George Massey, 6-2, 6-1; M. Stevenson defeated J. Littell 3-6, 6-0, 6-4; J. Armstrong defeated H. Fulton, 6-0, 6-1; A. Will Open a Class for Beginning Playwrights Embryo scribes who would write drama will be given the opportunity to learn in the beginning playwriting class which will open for its new year's work, Tuesday, Sept. 25. This class, which is a regular North- western university course conducted jointly by the School of Speech and the Drama Club of Evanston under the Town and Gown Playshop move- ment, will be taught again this year by Theodore B. Hinkley, Changes inaugurated by iis spon- sors for this term call for ho'ding the meeting in the Public library rather than on the campus and for charging the university fee for registration in the course. It will meet in the north room of the library basement from 10 to 12 Tues- day mornings. Registrations will be received at the first meeting of the class, and will be welcome from all people who wish to learn to write drama, according to Mrs. Alice C. D. Riley, one of its sponsors. Auditors' sessions are to be held once a month, the first one perhaps not until late in October. COLLEGE GROUP MEETING The alumnae of the College for Women of Western Reserve univer- sity will meet for luncheon at 12:30 o'clock this Saturday afternoon at the College club, Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Raymond and three children, Helen, Jean and Jack, formerly of Evanston, now of Paris, are guests of Mr. Raymond's mother, Mrs. Lillian E.
