These will be sent to each parent member, of whom there are about 1,500. There will be sev- eral. méétings 'at the schools and two or three large meetings which all parents will attend. The first large meeting will be held in November when the speaker will be Mrs. Edward Yeomans, formerly of Winnetka. The pictures of Mesdames Brown, Cole," Harshaw and Bulger are by Bernie; _Smith, and. Howard by Koéhne ; Fee "by Koch; and Bryson by Wilhite. Kenilworth Church Will Be Scene of Ministers' Session Episcopal ministers of the Chicago area will hold a quarterly meeting at the Church of the Holy Comforter in Kenilworth Monday, September 24. Between fifty and sixty are expected to attend, according to the Rev. Leland H. Danforth, rector of the Kenilworth church. The meeting: will be opened with Holy Communion at 11 o'clock Mon- day morning. . Dean J. H. Edwards, of the Northeastern Deanery of the Episcopal church, diocese of Chicago, will preside. Following the communion service Attorney Philip Yarrow, of Chicago, will give an address on "Moral Con- ditions in Chicago." Luncheon will be served in the dining hall of the Church of the Holy Comforter at 1 o'clock by the Rector's Aid society of the church. In the afternoon at 2 o'clock the Rev. Arthur Rogers, of St. Mark's Episco- pal church, Evanston, will speak on the - subject, "A Ministry of the Modern World." The Rev. Mr. Rogers' address will conclude the 'day's pro- gram. Fossum Defeats Johnson for Park Board Trophy Sunday was the banner day of the season, in point of attendance, at Sko- kie Playfield Golf course, when Oscar Fossum, by defeating Fred Johnson, 5 'and 4, was declared the winner of the Winnetka Park Board cup. At the end of the morning round Fossum was 7 up, and for a time, in the afternoon round, -it- appeared that Johnson might attach the coveted trophy. But after some mighty good golf on the first- few holes, Johnson's playine became less encouraging, with the result that his opponent won the contest. Thurs- day. by the chairman, Mrs. Frank R. Fuller, in honor of Mrs. Kellogg Fair- bank who came down from her country home at Lake Geneva for the occasion. Among those invited to serve on the committee were: Mrs. Randolph Buck, Mrs. Dwight Greene, Mrs. Preston Boy- den, Mrs. William Gold Hibbard, Mrs. Dain Fuller, Mrs. Roswell. B. Mason, Mrs. Ashley Gerhard, Mrs. William B. Hale, Mrs. Perry Smith, Mrs. Leslie A. Weary, Mrs. Herbert Browne, Mrs. S. T. Burke, Miss Kolb, Mrs. William R. English, Mrs. Arthur Sullivan, Mrs. Roland Whitman, Mrs. William Clore, Mrs. Robert Weight, Mrs. Sam Smart, Mrs. George Frazer, Mrs. Ben Pfeiffer, Mrs. J. Eager Lloyd, Mrs. Helen Eng- ish, and Mrs. Laird Bell. Messages were received from Carter H. Harrison, five times Mayor of Chi- cago. Mr. Harrison wired: "I am unable to be present at this gathering of the Democratic women of Winnetka. You may have my very best wishés in your support of our splendid candidate. We are just organizing our headquarters and will be pleased to have you call and co-operate with us."--Carter H. Harrison. ; From Martin J. O'Brien, late city comptroller: "My special congratudations to the democratic women of Winnetka for getting together so early. Our can- didate has perseverance, frankness, courage, and a winning personality. I consider him one of the greatest men our country has ever produced. We have a good cause and a winning candidate."--Martin J. O'Brien. From Miss Gladys Hanson, leading lady in the new play at the Cort thea- ter, "The Queen's Husband": "I wish I could be present to add ny spirit to the gathering of Democratic women at Winnetka. During the last seven weeks [ have bcen very busy studying and working for the produc- tion of our new play, but my only three hours of leisure I devoted to registration at the City Hall in New York, so I could forward my vote by mail from Chicago. "IT consider the defeat of Al Smith would be a serious loss to our country.
