SR, Ad December 8, 1928 WINNETKA TALK 13 Endeavor to Raise Scholarship Fund With Girls' Bazaar Girls of New Trier High school have been busy this week preparing for the annual bazaar sponsored by the Girls' club which will be held this Saturday, December 8, in the mess hall at the school beginning at 10 o'clock. The proceeds will go to the club for their scholarship fund, and also for fur- nishing the new girls' club room. Every year the club gives about one thousand dollars for scholarships, and this year the members want to double the amount to meet the added ex- penses, The following booths will be found at the bazaar: a French booth, carry- ing all sorts of dainty gifts--lingerie, pillows, and boudoir accessories; a Christmas tree, or miscellaneous gift booth; the well known "Dutch Oven," where home-baked food will be avail- able; a candy booth; a flower booth; and a cider and doughnut booth. New features this year will be a grab bag and a shooting gallery. There will be a gypsy tea room in the balcony. A special feature of the bazaar will be the high school dramatic club's presentation of the Alice Gerstenberg play, "The Pot Boiler," a humorous satire on modern drama. The play will be given at 3:30 in the afternoon and at 8:30 in the evening in the high school auditorium. Dancing will follow the play in the evening. Hold Funeral Services for Mrs. Martha Utlev Funeral services of Mrs. Martha Utley, wife of Henry B. Utley of the Congress hotel, took place Saturdav afternoon, December 1, at the chapel. 1253 N. Clark street, Chicago, and burial took place Sundav, December 2, at Sterling, Ill. Mrs. Utley was the mother of Mrs. David Oliver, 521 Wal- nut street, who at resent is travelino in Europe. Mr. Utlev is vice-presi- dent of the International Harvester company. Mrs. Anna Busscher, of 1421 Wil- mette avenue, Wilmette, died Thurs- day morning at her home after a lin- gering illness. Mrs. Busscher was 49 vears old and had been a resident of Wilmette for 20 years. She is sur- vived by her husband, Joseph Bus- scher, one daughter, Veronica, and two brothers, John and Bernard Happ. The funeral services will be held at 11:15 a. m. today at St. Francis Xa- vier church in Wilmette. Burial will take place at Techny. VISITING HERE Mrs. Frederick Hagen, 1387 Scott avenue, has as her houseguest her sister, Mrs. Ray Green of Kansas City, Mo. Mrs. Green has been here sev- eral weeks and many of the Hagen's friends have entertained in her honor. Mr. and Mrs. Hagen gave a dinner party for her last Tuesday evening at their home. Mr. and Mrs. Trumbull Backus and Miss Theresa and Miss Betty Backus. formerly residents of Kenilworth at 245 Cumnor road and now living in Hamilton, Ohio, were guests of Mrs Backus' sister in Chicago recently. While here they visited many old friends in Kenilworth. ---- SKOKIE PUPIL INJURED George Komen, a pupil at the Skokie school, was accidentally struck above the right eye with a bat during a play period at the school Thursday afternoon.
