GLENCOE'S BUILDING IN NOVEMBER SHOWS SLUMP Fast Pace for 10 Months of Year Bring Natural Decline--Dec- ember Promising Glencoe's building record for No- vember, like an exhausted individual, made a poor showing during the thirty day period next to the closing month of the year. Throughout 1928, Glencoe has stood in the forefront of Chicago area vil- lages in the number and valuation of new residences constructed each month. A far better December than Novem- ber is anticipated, which would aid materially in bringing the annual total to a record figure. Permits for two new store buildings it is said will be forthcoming in De- cember, in addition to a number of new residences which it is being planned to start at that time. Only nine permits were issued last month, Four were, for new residences costing $79,000 and 5 for private ga- rages, costing $1,947, a total of $80,947. Tenty-eight permits were issued in October for $307,660 worth of building, and an even dozen were issued in No- vember a year ago, when the total im- provements reached $266,150. Permits for the four new residences issued last month were to Charles H. Dunlap, for a two story brick and stuc- co, at 9226 Valley road, $16,000. A. R.
