Fales; Father Pioneer Winnetkan James Turner Fales, formerly of Lake Forest, passed away Thursday, December 13. Mr. Fales was the son of the late David Fales, attorney, who was one of the pioneer Chicago families. He was a charter member of the Chicago Bar association and associated with various public insti- tutions concerned with the develop- ment of Chicago. In 1875 the elder Mr. Fales pur- chased considerable lake front prop- erty in Winnetka. He lived there for several years, and was one of the or- ganizers of the Winnetka Congrega- tional church. Mr. Fales is survived by his widow and by two sisters, Miss Katherine Fales of Lake Forest, and Mrs. Wil- liam Wister Comfort of Haverford, Pa., and by three brothers, Prof. David Fales of New Brunswick, N. J. John Chester Fales of Sacramento, Cal, and Elisha N. Fales of Winnetka. Mr. and Mrs. E.
