Description
Lawton Kay Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Anderson, Lindsay, enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force on 1 September 1942. He trained at Toronto, Ont., Guelph, Ont., and at Mossbank, Sask. (O.F.U. O.T.U. H.C.U.). He served at #6 Br Sqd Alliford Bay, B.C., #116 Squ., Pennfield Ridge. Warrant officer Anderson was promoted from the rank of Sergeant to F/Sgt., to WO II and WO I.
Warrant Officer Anderson was sent overseas on 1 August 1944. He served for a period in the Coastal Command. Warrant Officer Anderson has the 1939-45”OP”STAR, Pacific Star-C.V.S.M. & clasp.
He arrived at home on 29 June 1945 and was given his discharge on 17 October 1945.
A student before his enlistment, Kay Anderson is continuing his studies at the University of Toronto.
