- Bernard Arthurs enlisted in Peterborough in Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry highlanders, October 1940, trained at Kingston, transferred to Debert, May, 1941. He went overseas July 1941, sent to Sicily May 1943, then to Italy as Corporal. He was promoted to Sergeant, and then wounded his arm on 22 December 1943. He was wounded again on 16 June 1944, but returned to combat.
