Mr. and Mrs. Reg. Dart received a cable from their son Jack R. Dart saying he arrived safely in Gt. Britain, Jack is attached to the C.A.E.T.C. and enlisted last fall and trained at Camp Borden, Orillia and Owen Sound.

- Trooper Jack Dart, B-63248, enlisted in the Tank Corps in August 1942 at Toronto. He was stationed in Toronto for about a month and then was transferred to Newmarket for his basic training. He also trained at Orillia, Camp Borden and Owen Sound. He went overseas in May, 1943 and trained in Scotland and England. He took part in the invasion of France, being wounded in Normandy on 9 July 1944. He was in the hospital in France for six weeks recovering from his wounds. He was fighting in Belgium before going to the front lines in Holland.
