Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Day received a cable this week that their son, PO. Joseph E. Day had arrived overseas. He is the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Day and received his wings at Souris, Man.

F/O Joseph Laverne Day, age 22 years, only son of Mr. and Mrs. A.E. Day of Haliburton, enlisted at Toronto, 31 July 1942,
He was granted a month’s leave and reported back to Manning Depot, Toronto, where he took his basic training.
He went to Quebec City, Victoriaville (Quebec), and Cap de la Madeleine (Quebec). From there to Souris (Manitoba) where he received his wings and commission in August 1943. He took a special Navigator’s course at Summerside, P.E.I. going overseas in February 1944, where he has since been promoted to the rank of F/O. - Date of Publication
